Alan Mac reminded us of the Wine Tour on Saturday April 18 cost is $125 per person due to tasting charges that are being imposed by the wineries.

Elizabeth Henry sent a thank you note for the flowers she received after her foot surgery.

2010-2011 Board members were announced by Mike Heller and were unanimously approved by the general membership.

No Superbowl party at Bill Eames’ this year.

A “hat” was passed and funds collected for Haitian relief. $500 has been allocated from the International funds. The money will go to the district and used to fund ROTARY shelter boxes.

Ski enthusiasts may want to join Ron Wake and other Rotarian March 5 at Alpine Meadows. Lodge bunnies are also invited.

Don Anderson was pleased to have his son join him in LA for some legal proceedings.
Terry Ring updated us on Cal Rugby. They trounced opposition 99/0!
Andy’s son assisted in flying Army helicopters to Haiti with relief supplies.

Wendy and Andy Scheck told of how they started the LamorindaWeekly three years ago. This has been a remarkable success considering neither had prior newspaper or publishing experience. A unique aspect is the paper-less process they employ to produce the paper and coordination with 6 independent [Andy and Wendy do not tell them what to print] editors and 20+ contributors. Over 22,000 copies are printed by-weekly. Most are distributed by mail. Andy delivers to newsstands in the area.

The paper has proved to be a strong source of community information and many organizations have benefitted due to the increased exposure.

Lamorinda Weekly has become a valuable asset to our area. We wish Andy and Wendy continued success.
