• Sandi reminded everyone that the District Assembly will be in Napa Valley on April 17th with registration commencing at 8am. Many board members and new members are planning to attend.
• Bob Shusta gave a talk about the importance of asking people to become members of Rotary. He said that he has been a member since 1994 and has sponsored 11 members into the Club, six of whom are still active. He talked about Peggy Harbarth and Troy Feddersen, who were present, and how he convinced them to be members. Upon conclusion of his talk, Larry Duson said that he also was recruited by Bob and he should be fined $5 for not mentioning it. Bob paid.
• Bud Moultroup told us that the Bud McKenzie fundraiser for a school in Afghanistan for girls raised $65,000, more than he expected.
• Jess Wellen announced that a Chamber ribbon cutting for his Lafayette Car Wash will be held May 20th.
• Mike Henn thanked everyone who turned-out to assist with the Easter candy scramble event at Plaza Park on Saturday, April 3rd. Larry Blodgett then mentioned that Larry Duson and Bob Shusta made announcements, but were hard to hear, so he presented to the club a new bull horn to be used at future events. He got a loud round of applause for his donation which will be stored at Bank of the West.

Maurice Williams told us about his life which started out in Canada. He has been married 36 years and has four boys, two of whom are firefighters. While in high school in Canada, he was on the gymnastics team and traveled extensively in Canada, the U.S. and Europe competing. He coached gymnastics.
