Larry Blodgett said Jack Hansen spent a day in the hospital and is now at home and would welcome calls from us. (925) 376-0646.
Dick Holt announced that he will have 10 guests at our March 24 meeting when Dr. Amer Araim, Imam of a local mosque speaks to us about Islam. We will need to make adjustments with our caterer so we will be asking for an indication that you will be attending.
John Sherry reminded us that we are assisting the Sunrise club in their program to provide light repair services for seniors.
Geoff thanked John Sherry for all his work. Ron Wake said Rotary Skiing should be great March 11 at Northstar although we do not have a race team. Ron also said he knows that Troy Feddersen will return from PETS prepared to lead our 2011-2012 year.
Mike Heller praised Polly and especially Molly at Diablo Rapid Print for the great job on a book about his mother.

Ed Stokes is elated over Saint Marys being first seed in CCA. Geoff gave H$ for the three guests.
Maurice Williams had a pleasant trip to LA and visit with elderly relatives.
Pete Barbounis’s daughter is engaged and somehow $$$ will be saved. Note taker confused!

Day’s speaker – Dan Howard, Superintendent of Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary that is about 17 miles West of Point Reyes lighthouse [North of the Faralons]. The tops of Cordell Banks are about 130 feet underwater so submersibles [manned and ROV’s] are used to observe the teaming sea life that supports feeding Wales. Dan said that sea life abundance varies for unknown reasons and that this year looks great for salmon and 2010 was the best crab season in 50 years.
Dan then described a program to remove debris [nets, long lines, etc.] that had been ensnared on the craggy pinnacles of the Cordell Banks. The area is now closed to such activity.
OTHER ACTIVITY – Our club assisted the Sunrise Club on Saturday in their home assistance for seniors needing light repair or maintenance.
