Speaker- Dan Barnes introduced our speaker. Barbara Persons MD, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Persons Plastic Surgery in Lafayette. She is on staff at many local hospitals including; John Muir, San Ramon Regional, Aspen, and Kindred. She decided to pursue becoming a surgeon when she and her boyfriend were in a terrible car accident; they were hit by a driver who had suffered from an epileptic seizure. Unfortunately the accident caused severe trauma to her face and she had to undergo several facial reconstructive surgeries. Her experience led her to become a surgeon and help others like her. She talked about some of the cases she has seen; people suffering from skin cancer to gunshot wounds. She wanted to make sure they received the level of care they needed regardless of their insurance plan (she accepts all types). Dr. Persons finds the most satisfaction in her work when she sees her patients after their procedure beaming with confidence. Raffle- Alicia Cragholm won $2. Ed Stokes won $5. Save the Greenbacks! The meeting was adjourned at 1:30PM by Geoff. |
